In May 1991, a series of programmes was being shown on British national T.V. called "your life in their hands". The programmes were about alternative medicine and therapies. One particular film was entitled simply "Angel". It featured a millionaire Spanish surgeon called Dr Angel Escudero. This man had perfected a technique [which he called Noesitherapy] for inducing instantaneous anaesthesia in his patients without any form of drugs, hypnosis or any other recognised anaesthetic, but by simply talking to them for a couple of minutes.
The film showed a patient having surgery to correct a badly bent leg. The surgeon made a large deep incision and proceeded to saw and drill into the bone in order to remove a wedge so the leg could be re-positioned with screws. During the entire procedure the patient was fully conscious and chatting with the theatre staff. During the program other miracles were shown, a man nearly blind from diabetes had his sight restored to such a degree that he obtained a driving licence and joined a sharpshooters club, a woman with manic depression was completely cured and had a marvellous outlook on her new life.
One man who was a sceptic was told only to have saliva in his mouth and say "my arm is anaesthetised" he then plunged a large needle in his own arm with no pain or discomfort, he then said "the holes made by the needle will remain anaesthetised but the rest of my arm has it's normal sensibilities". Dr Escudero pinched the mans arm an inch from the needle and this produced a cry of pain, but when the needle was lifted pulling the mans flesh he felt nothing at all. I realised that I was witnessing something very, very special from Spain.
Determined to find our more, I wrote to the doctor telling him about myself and asking if he would teach me the therapy, to my delight he said he would, and over the next seven months we corresponded regularly. In September 1992 Dr Escudero came to Scarborough, England and taught me the secret of Noeistherapy.
